OPTIONS FOAMSCAN

THE FOAMABILITY BY SHEAR
OF LIQUID
WITH THE STIRRING CUVETTE

This option can create foam by shear

With this new cuvette, foam can be formed by stirring of the liquid by the rotation of blades up to 4000 rpm.

The foam rises in the glass column. Its conductance gives an indication on the liquid quantity at these differents heights of the foam.

As for the bubbling, the temperature of the liquid sample can be controlled up to 70°C.

EXAMPLE OF MEASUREMENT WITH CREATION OF FOAM BY STIRRING :

This screen copy shows the comparison between two experiments with the Tween60 and the Tween40.

Experimental conditions :

  • Rotation of the motor : 4000 rpm

  • Liquid volume : 15 cm3

  • Temperature : 20 °C

  • Foam volume to be reached : 20 cm3

  • Experiment stopped after : 200 secondes
